The relationship between Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) continues to worsen daily.
During a press briefing, the Meru governor laughed off plans by a section of the MCAs to impeach her, saying she would not be intimidated by the ward representatives.
“We must follow the law. Even if you make numerous allegations, Mama’s government is alert. I am not ready to pocket even a single coin that belongs to Mwananchi. I will not be intimidated to be a thief,” Kawira said.
While dismissing MCAs’ claims of being disrespectful, she insisted her government would only fund MCA’s projects within the legal framework.
“Let the speaker bring the documents that shows the amount of money you want. Even if it is Ksh.200,000 or Ksh.200 million, I am ready to give you provided it is anchored in the law. I must have a written document, something I can show,” she said
