Paul Chebor, the Member of Parliament representing Rongai constituency, has found himself entangled in a controversy as he faces serious allegations of misappropriating the constituency development funds (CDF).

A lobby group named Patriots Oversight Association has submitted a petition to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), accusing the MP of issuing bursary funds through MPESA, a mobile money transfer platform.

In the petition, the Patriots Oversight Association alleges that Paul Chebor, a first-time MP, has mismanaged the constituency’s development funds.

The lobby group claims that the MP used MPESA as a channel to distribute bursary funds, raising concerns about transparency and accountability in the allocation of resources intended for educational support.

With mounting pressure, the Patriots Oversight Association has called upon the EACC and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds.

The lobby group insists that those implicated in the mismanagement of funds should face legal consequences.

The accusations against Paul Chebor have raised serious questions about the proper utilization of public resources and the effectiveness of the constituency’s development initiatives.

The misappropriation of CDF is a serious offense that undermines the trust of the constituents and impedes the socio-economic progress of the region.

A reliable source who has sought anonymity has told the writer that the MP has been misusing the funds and employing his close associates.

He expressed their disappointment and frustration over the alleged mismanagement, calling for swift action by the authorities.

He expect that the EACC and DCI will conduct a comprehensive inquiry to ascertain the truth and bring justice to the situation.

The allegations against the Rongai MP highlight the need for stronger oversight mechanisms and enhanced transparency in the utilization of public funds.

As the investigation unfolds, the public eagerly awaits the outcome and hopes that those found guilty of misusing public funds will be held accountable.
