DCI officers On Spot Over Extortion at City Hall

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Officers are now on spot over witch hunt on City Hall Officers.

Kileleshwa MCA and Publics Account Committee member Robert Alai revealed that there a section of senior officers at City Hall that are selling all the narratives to DCI and hoping that they will use some magic fishing rod to find a fictitious payment which doesn’t exist.

“Some employees who were so powerful yet so corrupt at the Nairobi City County are finding it hard to work under the new leadership with assembly which is keen to monitor everything. They are selling all these narratives to DCI and hoping that they will use some magic fishing rod to find a fictitious payment,” Alai stated.

He said that he personally engaged the from the Office of the Auditor General at City Hall and the claims of hot air payment are not true.

“I am an elected MCA and member of Public Accounts Committee. I have also engaged the auditors from OAG and internal ones to see if the claims had some validity. None of the claims is true. No payments were made to the said companies, let alone for the supply of Hewa. Those who were behind the NMS scandals are now out to target the innocent employees in the county who are now just trying to streamline things,” he added.

He stated that DCI officers of turning into serious extortionists around City Hall.

“I call the head of investigations to order and let these employees work in peace. You have OAG, EACC and DCI units able to arrest the fraudsters. Stop these extortion schemes at the county,” Alai said.

On Wednesday, August 2, afternoon one of the secretaries was arrested and some computers sezeid by DCI officers.
