John Njogu a senior employee of DT Dobie Kenya owns the five-story building that has now hit the news. (Watch video below).

Peter Kamau his caretaker hired a welder and plumber to do the shocking job as a way of evicting the female tenant who is a mother of three, including a five-month baby.

The tenant had just rent arrear of Sh16, 000 for last month and was planning to pay today. Now she has covered the door opening with curtains as she contemplates the next move.

The apartment in Ruiru.

Kamau told her they wanted to detach the doors to have them repaired then put them back.

“I had no problem though I questioned what indeed they were fixing. When they left, I realised they even removed the flush toilet and disconnected water” she said.

Tenants who sought anonymity said Ngugi through his arrogant caretaker has a tendency of harassing tenants.

The landlord claimed he had given the victim a notice to vacate so he could repair the purported rusting doors.

One of the doors and toilet removed.

However, the other tenants said that was a lie as the house was in good condition.

“That is a lie. He intended to evict her for no good reason. That house like the rest is in good state. It needed no such repairs” another tenant said.

The sewer pipes were okay and the claim they were removed to unblock the system was just a cooked narrative to eject the lady.

John Ngugi the landlord.

“How do you leave a tenant and especially a lady exposed in such a manner. What if thugs walked into her house and harmed her. Who would take the blame” Martin Mwangi, a resident posed.

Kamau is now at large after police were called to intervene. He took off.
