The National Assembly Select Committee on the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) has inaugurated several projects funded by the NG-CDF within Kitutu Masaba Constituency in Nyamira County.
Led by Chairperson Hon. Musa Sirma (Eldama Ravine), the delegation included host MP Hon. Clive Gisairo, Hon. Beatrice Elachi (Dagoretti North), and Hon. (Dr.) Gideon Ochanda (Bondo). The committee inspected works at the Constituency NG-CDF office in Tombe and officially opened newly constructed Chiefs’ offices for Sengera and Rigena locations.
A significant highlight was the opening of an ICT hub at Kitutu Masaba Technical Vocational Educational and Training (TVET) College. This hub is expected to spur innovation and connect local youth to digital jobs, providing a modern platform for skill development and employment opportunities.
Additionally, the committee commissioned a new Tuition Block at Tiamoni DEB Primary School, a move set to enhance the learning environment and capacity of the institution.
Hon. Sirma emphasized the importance of community engagement in NG-CDF projects to ensure the fund addresses strategic community needs. He encouraged residents to actively participate in project-related engagements to guarantee the efficient use of resources for community empowerment.
Using the newly unveiled ICT hub as an example, Hon. Sirma urged the youth to explore opportunities in the digital space.
“The digital space offers very lucrative employment opportunities beyond the traditional white-collar jobs. You need to take initiative to improve your lives and those of your families,” stated Hon. Sirma.
The committee was accompanied by the NG-CDF Board leadership and officials from the Ministry of ICT. During their visit, the MPs also addressed residents on other contemporary issues, highlighting the importance of the projects for the local community and the broader goals of national development.
These projects mark a significant step in improving infrastructure and creating opportunities within Kitutu Masaba Constituency, demonstrating the NG-CDF’s commitment to fostering growth and development at the grassroots level
