The rolling out of National Land Information and Management System (Ardhisasa) in Nairobi has created massive benefits including improved ease of doing business, increased accessibility of land services and enhanced transparency in day to day land transactions.
This was said today by Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development CS Hon. Alice Wahome in a speech read on her behalf during the 2024- 3rd Regional Research Conference at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi.
In the speech read by Acting Secretary Lands Ms.Sarah Maina, the CS said the Ardhisasa system has also made land transactions more convenient and reduced time consuming physical visits to land offices.
“Digitalization has helped us in embracing improved ease of doing business, increased accessibility of land services and enhanced transparency in day-to-day land transactions,” said CS Wahome.
She noted that, the Ministry of Lands is committed to make land information available in form and language that can be understood by all Kenyans and provide necessary infrastructure like electricity, computers and Internet connectivity.
The acting Lands Secretary Ms.Sarah Maina, was representing the CS and PS Generali Nixon Korir who were held up elsewhere.
The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication and Digital Economy Eliud Owalo attended the event.
National Land Commission(NLC) chairman, Mr. Gershom Otachi, NLC Chief Executive Officer Ms Kabale Tache Arero were present at the conference whose theme was Data, Innovation and Technology for Land Governance.
