In a landmark event, the Tana Water Works Development Agency (TAWWDA) unveiled its ambitious Strategic Plan for 2023-2027. The event, held on Friday, was attended by key stakeholders, including the Secretary Administration Mr. Stephen Kihara, who represented the Principal Secretary for Water and Sanitation, Julius Korir CBS. Also in attendance were Chief Officer Eng. Philip Gichuki, representatives from Tharaka Nithi and Kirinyaga water companies, Board of Directors, the CEO, staff, and other key stakeholders.
The new strategic plan underscores TAWWDA’s commitment to achieving universal access to quality water and sanitation services. The launch marks a significant step forward in the agency’s mission to enhance the quality of life for citizens through improved infrastructure and capacity building at the county level.
Vision and Objectives
TAWWDA’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan is anchored on a vision of universal access to quality water and sanitation services. The plan outlines five strategic objectives designed to guide the agency’s efforts over the next five years:

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Stephen Kihara emphasized the government’s support for TAWWDA’s initiatives and the critical role that water and sanitation play in national development. “Water and sanitation are essential to our nation’s development. Chief Officer Eng.
