The Law Society of Kenya (LSK), under the determined leadership of President Faith Odhiambo, is unwavering in its call for justice following the discovery of four more bodies in Mukuru kwa Njenga. This brings the total number of recovered bodies to 14, marking a grim escalation in what has become a chilling saga for the local community.

President Odhiambo, known for her forthright and outspoken nature, has pledged that the LSK will persist until all perpetrators are brought to justice. “We will not rest until justice is served,” she declared, emphasizing the society’s commitment to ensuring accountability and justice for the victims and their families.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), supported by a specialized homicide team and the Recce squad, is leading the effort to uncover the truth behind these gruesome acts. The Kenya Red Cross has also deployed a single boat to aid in the retrieval mission, though the exact number of bodies still buried remains unknown. Human rights groups have noted that the retrieval efforts at the Kware pit have been painstakingly slow.

Large crowds of residents have gathered around the dumpsite, drawn by the morbid spectacle and the hope of understanding the horror that has befallen their neighborhood. The discovery of mutilated bodies wrapped in polythene bags has baffled investigators and horrified the local community.

DCI boss Mohamed Amin revealed that preliminary investigations point to a chillingly systematic method of killing. “The bodies have been transferred to the City Mortuary, where they await post-mortem examinations to confirm our suspicions and positively identify the victims,” Amin stated. The uniform manner in which the bodies were wrapped and disposed of suggests that these heinous acts may be the work of the same perpetrators.

As the investigation continues, the LSK and other stakeholders are calling for increased efforts to bring those responsible to justice. The Law Society of Kenya remains steadfast in its mission to ensure that the rule of law prevails and that the victims of these heinous crimes receive the justice they deserve.
