“The most successful women don’t run from change; they run towards it.” This is the mantra that guides Dr. Ekrah Ndung’u, Chief Executive Officer of the German Institute of Professional Studies and Chairperson of the Kenya National Association of Private Colleges (KENAPCO).

With the growing importance of women in every field of the community, Dr. Ekrah stands out as an iconic figure in academia, particularly in the field of foreign languages. One of her most outstanding attributes is her openness to building networks: she never misses a chance to meet new people, socialize with influential personalities, and help others grow.

On Friday evening, the German Institute of Professional Studies was once again honored by Starbrands. Dr. Ekrah, reflecting on the achievement, noted:

“We feel very elated as the German Institute of Professional Studies fraternity for always winning this Starbrands award annually, our third year in a row, to scoop the award for our quality training and for placements for our students in Germany. We are so honored, we are so privileged; this award is a dedication to our alumni because they are the ones who keep on sharing their stories and they keep on telling their story, through the German Institute of Professional Studies that shaped them in their success story. Foreign languages have got a lot of immense opportunities, especially German language now that the Government has done a bilateral agreement between Kenya and Germany, for our people to be able to work in Germany. The award is specially dedicated to our alumni.”

Dr. Ekrah’s commitment to excellence in education and her dedication to creating opportunities for her students continue to position the German Institute of Professional Studies as a leader in foreign language education and international placements.
