The Commission for University Education (CUE) has accredited Zetech University to offer advanced degree programs, including a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Computer Science and IT. This accreditation comes after a rigorous process involving adherence to ISO standards, state-of-the-art facilities, and a distinguished teaching faculty. The institution’s impressive track record in technological innovations and academic excellence has played a crucial role in achieving this recognition.
“Zetech University aims to build on its recent successes by further enhancing its technological education and expanding its innovative programs. The institution has introduced new courses, in the PhD in Computer Science and MSc in Computer Science and IT, programs that have been approved by the Commission for University Education (CUE), focused on emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain technology, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Software Development, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT), thereby staying ahead of educational trends and meeting the evolving needs in the job market,” noted Zetech University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Njenga Munene.
Earlier this month, Zetech University was ranked one of the best universities in Africa in the top 10 Universities in Africa to study Blockchain Technology by Emurgo Africa.
Microsoft Africa Development Center (ADC) Managing Director, Catherine Muraga, commented, “As a key stakeholder in the technology sector and having actively contributed to the development of the PhD and MSc Computer Science and IT programs at Zetech University, I am confident that these programs are designed to meet current market demands, address emerging technological trends, and align with global tech solutions necessary for the ever-evolving tech space.”
Zetech University faculty have continually and actively participated in recent upskilling programs by the Microsoft Africa Development Centre (ADC) aimed at supporting university lecturers and empowering them to keep in step with advancements in the tech industry – an edition that introduced elements within its content and instruction that will further place participating faculty at the forefront of understanding technological progress and its place in learning institutions.
Major accolades by the University in the tech sphere have continued to prove the expertise of Zetech University as a leading technological institution. Recently, the University received a certificate and a cheque for ten thousand US dollars for outstanding achievement in technological solutions and innovations. Zetech University was the sole representative from East Africa that secured the first runner-up position in the 3rd Edition of the African Telecommunication Union (ATU) Innovation Challenge, after Veritas University in Nigeria, a bold testimony to the institution’s prowess.
In a goal to empower a generation for tech solutions, earlier this year, Zetech University students won the top award in the Inter-University Power Learn Hackathon, a competition that saw all Universities in Kenya showcase their ideas. Zetech students developed a remarkable innovation offering green solutions: Airsafi, which has gained attention among environmental experts in the country. Airsafi is designed to monitor the air quality index, providing real-time notifications to locals and industries about air pollution levels.
