Kamukunji MP Welcomes New Mining, Blue Economy CS Hassan Joho to Eastleigh

The new Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, made one of his first official visits to Eastleigh, Kamukunji Constituency.

The visit, warmly received by local leaders and the business community, underscored the deep ties and collaborative spirit within the region.

Kamukunji Member of Parliament, Yusuf Hassan, expressed his pleasure in welcoming his former parliamentary colleague to the area, highlighting the importance of the visit.

“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome my friend and former parliamentary colleague, the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, Hassan Ali Joho, to Eastleigh. I am glad that one of his first visits following his appointment was to Kamukunji,” said the MP.

The visit commenced with a special tour of BBS Mall, the largest mall in East and Central Africa, guided by the mall’s Founder and Chair, Maalim Wali, and CEO Munir Ahmed.

The state-of-the-art facility, which has become a significant commercial hub in the region, was showcased as a prime example of the thriving business environment in Eastleigh.

The tour was followed by a stop at the newly opened CJ’s Cafe, located within the BBS Mall, where the CS was hosted by Abdullahi Ahmed, CEO of CJ’s Company. The occasion also saw the presence of Eastleigh North MCA Ahmedqadar Dabar, further emphasizing the collaborative nature of the visit.

MP Yusuf Hassan expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended to the Cabinet Secretary and praised the local business community for their role in the development of Eastleigh. He highlighted the importance of such visits in strengthening the relationship between government officials and the communities they serve.

“The visit by CS Joho is not only a mark of friendship but also a testament to the strong bonds and mutual respect that exist within our leadership. It is through such engagements that we can continue to foster growth, development, and prosperity in our communities,” Hassan added.

The visit by CS Joho to Eastleigh is expected to pave the way for future collaborations between his ministry and the Kamukunji Constituency, especially in areas related to the blue economy and maritime affairs.
