In a momentous achievement, students from Elwak DEB Primary School in Mandera County have made history by becoming the first school from the region to qualify for the prestigious Kenya Music Festival State House Concert. Mandera South Member of Parliament Abdul Haro Kore expressed his immense pride and excitement over this remarkable accomplishment.
The students, who were standout performers at the 96th Kenya Music Festival, will have the honor of performing at the Finalists’ Gala event this Friday at the Eldoret State Lodge, in front of President William Ruto. The achievement marks a significant milestone not only for Elwak DEB but for the entire Mandera County.
“I am beyond thrilled to share that history was made today at the Kenya Music Festival’s grand finale. My students from Elwak DEB have proven their worth and earned the incredible opportunity to perform at the State House Concert,” said Hon. Kore. “Their hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence have set a new standard for our school and county.”
To celebrate this outstanding achievement, Hon. Kore treated the students to a well-deserved lunch, joined by their peers from Wajir East and Sabuley Secondary Primary. The event was a joyous occasion, highlighting the unity and shared success among the students.
“These brilliant young minds have raised the flag of our county higher than ever before. Their success is an inspiration to all of us, and I want to personally congratulate each and every one of them,” added the MP.
As the students prepare for their performance at the State Concert, Hon. Kore extended his best wishes, expressing confidence that they will continue to make Mandera County proud. The community eagerly awaits their representation at the national level, where they will showcase their talents on one of the country’s most prestigious stages.
