I&M Bank Launches I&M@50 Golf Series to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

I&M Bank has officially kicked off its I&M@50 Golf Series, a prestigious five-club tournament celebrating the bank’s 50th anniversary. The series began at Limuru Country Club on Friday, September 13th, 2024, and will continue through November, bringing together golf enthusiasts from across the country.

The I&M@50 Golf Series is part of the bank’s broader effort to strengthen its engagement with customers and stakeholders as it marks five decades of operation in Kenya. This year, I&M Bank has significantly increased its investment in golf, committing Kes 13 million to the initiative, up from Kes 9 million in 2023. In addition to organizing five tournaments, the bank has supported various other golf events throughout the year, aiming to make the sport more accessible and inclusive.

The series will feature tournaments at the following clubs:

  • Limuru Country Club – Friday, 13th September 2024
  • Sigona Golf Club – Saturday, 19th October 2024
  • Nyali Golf Club – Saturday, 9th November 2024
  • Vetlab Sports Club – Friday, 22nd November 2024
  • Muthaiga Golf Club – Saturday, 30th November 2024

These events are designed to showcase I&M Bank’s commitment to golf while providing valuable networking opportunities for customers, stakeholders, and club members.

Speaking at the launch at Limuru Country Club, Stanley Gachoki, Head of Distribution and Premium Banking at I&M Bank, expressed his excitement for the series, stating: “In this year of I&M Bank’s 50th anniversary, we have dedicated significant resources towards stakeholder engagement in celebration of our golden legacy. This effort is not just to show our appreciation to our customers for enabling us to reach this milestone, but to gather feedback and insights as we continue innovating relevant financial solutions for all Kenyans.”

Gachoki also highlighted the bank’s customer-centric approach, noting that the listening strategy has contributed to increased customer numbers and revenue growth. He further mentioned the bank’s recent accolade, achieving the top ranking in the Kenya Banking Consumer Sentiment on Social Media Index by Data EQ, with a 45.8% lead over its nearest competitor.

The chief guest at the launch, Kenya Golf Union Chairman Mr. David Ndung’u, commended I&M Bank for its role in promoting golf in Kenya. “With private sector entities like I&M Bank taking a keen interest in developing this great sport, I am confident that the future of golf is in good hands. I look forward to seeing how this relationship will continue to grow,” he said.

Ndung’u, who is also a member of Limuru Country Club, was elected Chairman of the Kenya Golf Union in May 2024, succeeding Philip Ochola. His presence at the I&M@50 Golf Series launch marks a strong partnership between the bank and the Kenyan golf community.
