The Nairobi metropolitan area, encompassing Nairobi City, Kiambu, Machakos, and Kajiado Counties, was the biggest beneficiary, receiving the largest share of the prize money. Kajiado County notably emerged as a major contributor to the new millionaires list, with Mr. James Seka, a property caretaker from Ongata Rongai, being the final recipient of the weekly Sh1 million grand prize.

The distribution of the prize money saw Nairobi and its environs collectively winning over Sh40 million, while the Coastal region secured more than Sh23 million. The remaining Sh100 million was shared among the rest of the country’s regions.

Kajiado County produced three new millionaires: James Seka, Joram Ochienku, and Phoebe Nafula. Mombasa County followed with two new millionaires. Other notable grand prize winners include Aron Kipkirui from Kericho, George Odhiambo from Homa Bay, Samuel Arithi and Lennox Gatimu from Mombasa, Willy Mumach from Kisumu, Susan Wambura from Kirinyaga, Pamela Kageni from Nairobi, Justus Don Okello from Kakamega, Brenda Chepkemoi from Nandi, and Esther Wairimu Wambugu from Nyeri.

Paul Oloo, Senior Communications Manager at Coca-Cola Kenya, highlighted that the new millionaires will receive training on personal financial management to help ensure that their winnings contribute to long-term financial stability and wealth creation. “Given that many Kenyans seek financial advice from informal sources, we have engaged financial experts to provide guidance so that these winnings can have a lasting impact,” Oloo said.

In a departure from previous promotions that offered trips and shopping vouchers, this year’s initiative saw Coca-Cola tripling the prize money and awarding cash directly to winners. This decision was aimed at assisting consumers of Coca-Cola products—including various Fanta brands, Sprite, Krest, Stoney, and Schweppes—in navigating the challenging economic environment.

Participants in the promotion purchased Coca-Cola beverages in 200ml, 300ml, and 500ml returnable glass bottles, checked under the metal crown for a unique code, and sent it to 40111 for a chance to win.

The campaign not only rewarded consumers but also aimed to boost sales and enhance customer engagement for businesses selling Coca-Cola beverages across the country
