18th September 2024 – The Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Molo Technical and Vocational College (Molo TVC) to foster collaboration in public policy education, research, and capacity building. The signing ceremony was attended by KIPPRA Board Chair, Prof. Benson Ateng’, Executive Director, Dr. Rose Ngugi, and Molo TVC Principal, Mr. Francis Tanui.
The MOU outlines key areas of partnership, including the capacity building of trainers in the public policy-making process, the formation of a policy club for students, and the undertaking of joint research projects and workshops. These initiatives are expected to provide both trainers and students at Molo TVC with a stronger foundation in public policy analysis, enhancing their contribution to national development.
Prof. Ateng’ and Dr. Ngugi emphasized the importance of equipping technical institutions with policy-making knowledge and the role of research in shaping national policies. Mr. Tanui expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, which he believes will broaden students’ perspectives and prepare them for leadership roles in various sectors.
Also in attendance were KIPPRA’s Director of Corporate Services, Ms. Irene Mithia, Senior Policy Analyst, Mr. Victor Mose, and several Molo TVC staff members.
This partnership marks an important step in advancing public policy training and research in Kenya’s technical institutions.
