“The President needs to assure Kenyans that he will hand over power to whoever will be elected,” he said.

Duale said this after president Uhuru’s several meetings with opposition leaders which is seen as they are drafting ways to block the deputy president William Ruto from ascending to power in 2022.

Dp Ruto’s close allies have been critisizing Uhuru’s government for sidelining a sitting deputy president from national matters due to his rising popularity ahead of 2022 general elections.

Since the handshake between the president and his brother, the former prime minister Raila Odinga, the relationship between Ruto and Uhuru faded away with rivalry emerging between them.

Duale also said that,it was a sad day on Tuesday this week, after President Uhuru Kenyatta had assembled five tribal leaders from the five main communities,to craft a political strategy ahead of 2022 polls.

“It was a sad day. The President assembled tribal leaders from the five main communities, contrary to Jubilee’s philosophy and the way that I knew him for many years. Coast region was not represented,”Duale stated.
