Garisa town Mp Aden Duale has criticize the manner in which inspector general of police Hillary Mutyambai decided to compromise with the security of the countrys second in command William Ruto on Thursday.

Duale now says that ,it is now clear that as a country we should brace ourselves for enhanced shenanigans of the highest order adopted to frustrate the bid of the deputy president Ruto in next year’s general elections.

“This is unacceptable and out of order. The political detractors of the deputy president must however be cognizant that there is law,”Duale said

Duale further said that Kenya is not a lawless country as some state officers would want to take it.

“We are bound by the Constitution. The position of Dp is a creation of the Constitution and gave specific functions under article 147 of the constitution,”Duale added.

The Dps ally further said that the law is very clear on the status of Dps office, reminding the security apparatus of the land that, the Deputy President shall be the principal assistant of the President and shall deputise for the President in the execution of the President’s functions.

“Subject to Article 134, when the President is absent or is temporarily incapacitated, and during any other period that the President decides, the Deputy President shall act as the President,”Duale added.

The former majority leader added that ,the Dp is still in office and it follows that the benefits and privileges accruing to the office cannot be taken away by anyone.

” What the Constitution gives can only be taken away by the Constitution. The security of the Deputy President to himself and his residences cannot be withdrawn and shall continue to subsist,”Duale stated

“It’s not about HE William Ruto, but upholding, preserving and the protection of the constitution, respecting the dignity of the office and person of the Deputy president now and in the future and observance of the rule of Law,”he added.
