Optiven Foundation Awards Sustainability Champions at the Gogreen Awards to Mark Wangare Maathai Day.

A number of participants in the Gogreen Awards 2021 were honored with different awards during the inaugural award ceremony held on Saturday 11th in Nairobi.

The awards were the culmination of the nomination, voting and verification of the winners in different categories.

Optiven Ceo George Wachiuri speaking at the event,praised the team for hard work in ensuring Kenya go green and a better planet.

“We at Optiven foundation are humbled to get the opportunity to learn from the different environment champions,and we can’t take such achievement for granted, “Wachiuri said.

Wachiuri further advised that as Optiven foundation under its environment pillar has in the year 2021 partnered with different organizations and institutions to carry on its agenda of environment sustainability.

“We have partnered with county governments like Kajiado County Government where we have cleaned up Ngatataek Town during the World environment day on 5th June 2021,Nairobi County Government on matters menstrual hygiene and also Kiambu County Government,”He added.

The Gogreen awards are initiative of the Optiven group foundation which has a number of pillars including the environmental pillar.

Dr Chris Kiptoo ,Ps in the ministry of environment and forestry also graced the Gogreen awards event.
