Nairobi City gubernatorial aspirant Richard Ngatia has promised to build four new 15000 seater capacity stadiums if elected.
Ngatia who is eyeing to be elected Nairobi’s fourth governor has also promised that his government will partner with the national government to build a multibillion sports complex in the city.
” In our plan to create jobs and opportunities,we are going to invest alot in sports and this involves building new stadiums and a sports complex,” Ngatia said.
He said that sports can be a great employer with proper planning.
His plan is to have over 50,000 youth benefiting from sports related activities in Nairobi.
Ngatia said this on the sidelines of the annual Magical Kenya Golf tournament which was also attended by President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The tournament was held at the Muthaiga Golf.
The tournament attracts both international and local professional golfers
Ngatia, the president of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a formidable contender in the gubernatorial race under the Azimio La Umoja coalition banner.
On his campaign trail, the business magnet has promised to develop sports facilities and nurture talent among the youth in Nairobi to give them job opportunities.
The four stadiums he intends to build are Kihumbuini, Woodley, Jacaranda and Kariokor, which have already been planned by the out going administration.
