Nairobi County Assembly Minority Chief Whip Peter Imwatok who doubles up as Makongeni Member of County Assembly will be among the first candidates to land direct party tickets.
According to credible sources within the inner circle he is now leading the list of leaders to be issued with direct tickets this is after Orange Democratic Movement party resolved to do so to its key allies that have been pushing the party agenda.
Imwatok famously known as ‘Jateso’ has been instrumental and a big asset of ODM when it comes to Nairobi politics.
As minority whip he led the opposition MCAs in a successful impeachment of then Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.
Imwatok further championed Raila Odingas’ interest in the assembly by protecting ODM ideologies.
Among his key achievements for the party include sponsoring a motion that granted Raila Odinga a road.
Other Nairobi MCAs expected to bag direct tickets are Kware ward MCA Rose Ogonda Kulla, Mabatini ward MCA Winfred Odallo, Moses Ogeto in Kilimani ward and Cecilia May Ayot in Laini Saba ward.
