Ten staff of Nairobi County Assembly who were not satisfied with court of appeal ruling reinstating Edward Gichana as substantiative clerk are up in arms and have vowed to causing chaos and disruption at Nairobi County assembly.
Today over 10 staff staged a coup against Gichana after the court judgement.
They blocked assembly entries and later rushed to high court to justify their deeds.
“They have caused violence yesterday demanding that Gichana leaves office today, they also tried to block the assembly they are doing all that despite court judgement,”source said.
The staff include Garvin Castro, Brian Yambo, Nancy Mutai, Jolida Wangui, Frederick Macharia, Ahmed Siro, Christine Madarah, Edward Atanga, Farah Gabow, Gladys Mwendwa, Evelyn Akinyi.
The Nairobi County Assembly last week in a memo affirmed that Edward Gichana is the substantive clerk and welcomed him back after the court reinstated him.
The Labor and Employment Relations court had earlier asked Gichana to step aside after former clerk Jacob Ngwele challenged his appointment.
Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Benson Mutura who issued the communication of his return on Monday had called upon all members and staff to support him.
