Richard Ngatia Launches Governor’s Bid, Promises to Transform the City

The Jubilee Party Nairobi Gubernatorial hopeful Richard Ngatia has today launched his bid in Kangemi Nairobi county where he promised to ensure that his administration brings visible development in the slum areas of Nairobi.

Ngatia says he will use his business acumen to transform Nairobi to international standards.

He said this would employment and development is top of his agendas.

Ngatia will be contesting through the Azimio LA Umoja ticket against Johnson Sakaja of Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Ngatia brought operations to a standstill at Kagemi after thousands of Supporters and politicians swarmed to show support for Richard Ngatia.

The official declaration of his candidature comes a day before Jubilee Party begins its five day nominations ahead of the August polls.

In his pledge to Nairobians after an endorsement from Agikuyu elders Ngatia promised to bring in policies that will see the current markets improved and put into a quality state.

“My dream is to make Nairobi a place where everyone can do business effectively. This city controls 60 per cent of our GDP,” Ngatia said.

The KNCCI president also promised to find a solution to the stalemate over the removal of PSVs from Central Business District calling for proper consultations before the directive is implemented.

“No matatus will be kicked out of CBD but in my administration we shall sit and find a solution to end the traffic menace,” Ngatia added.

In attendance to Ngatia’s event was Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, MP Imran Okoth (Kibra), Anthony Oluoch (Mathare),Julius Mawathe (Embakasi South), Maina Kamanda, former Kibwezi MP Phillip Kaloki, and over 70 city MCAs.
