Uproar Over Unlawful Detention of Nairobi County Speaker

The National Police Service is under pressure to release Nairobi Speaker Benson Mutura from Muthaiga Police Station this is after Director of Public Prosecution find no proper charges against him.
According to the Assembly staff Mutura is being held unlawfully at Muthaiga Police Station.

According to sources the DCI presented unverified charges with less threshold before the DPP.
“He has been detained at Muthaiga Police Station for no reason.they took those charges to the DPP but they were not admitted.” His Lawyer Kokebe said.
The DCI yesterday briefly arrested Mutura at the assembly precincts but he was later released after staff intervention.
