Opposition leader Raila Odinga has called for a level pursuit of justice by the government in cases of abduction and extrajudicial killings.

Raila implied that the government has been politically selective in its sanctions for probes into the mysterious deaths reported in the recent past.

At the moment, detectives are undertaking investigations into the missing of three people; two of Indian descent and one Kenyan.

The missing trio is believed to have been abducted and tortured by the defunct Special Service Unit (SSU), whose officers are under detention.

The SSU operated under the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). Owing to the government’s commitment in the trio’s case, Raila asked the state operatives to equally revisit the past unresolved but similar cases.

“Those Indians were human beings, and they deserve to live. We continue to pray for their families and hope they will be found alive, and justice shall be done in their case.
But we believe the Indians are not the first to disappear and they will certainly not be the last if the past is anything to go by,” Raila said.
