Real estate firm Optiven Group has opened a global office in Karen, Zamani Business Park to market its housing units and serve as a regional hub.
Group chief executive George Wachiuri said the move was aimed at addressing challenges Kenyans living abroad face when purchasing properties in Kenya.He said the move to open the Diaspora office targets Kenyans living in the Diaspora.
Wachiuri noted that Kenyans from as close as Addis Ababa or as far as Kyoto or Seattle can now follow up on or collect their Title Deeds from one point.The newly opened global office will start by venturing into 20 countries as it prepares to pounce to other 35 countries in the African continent.
“We are happy to have opened this global office as we seek to expand to other countries and especially to the East Africa market, we are ready to serve all Kenyans with a real deal,” Wachiuri said.The CEO said that Optiven is driven by a desire to make sure that Kenyans in Diaspora are accorded an easy opportunity to get their title deeds to hustle free.
“We want to honor our customers and show them how we truly value them. We want them to know that we are always ready to work and walk with them,” he said.Wachiuri said that the improving infrastructural developments, growing population, growing middle class with improved tastes and preferences, and, entry of multinational firms have also continued to shape industry standards and hence encouraging investment in the Real Estate asset class.
“Real estate investment builds asset wealth, enables job creation, supports economic growth, and facilitates financial intermediation,” he said adding that land and housing are central to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals Housing contributes towards a sustainable future.Wachiuri further noted that the company had employed more than 500 employees about 1,000 causal workers and they are projecting to double by vision 2030.
He said that their prices vary and they will continue partnering with like-minded institutions to empower Kenyans.
“Kenyans in Diaspora are extremely intelligent; number two they are very hard working; number three these people yearn to invest back home and that is why we are here to help them own a piece of property back in Kenya.”
Wachiuri said because of the personal experiences and business lessons he has picked over the years he has been in business, he has committed to several things including, philanthropy through his foundation which pays fees for needy students, running medical camps and building houses for the elderly as part of the company’s social responsibility contract as well as mentoring young university graduates.
Optiven started more than 20 years ago and has won countless awards over the years, including for Wachiuri who has been named Africa business personality of the year on several occasions.
