KURA Boss Silas Kinoti Secures Ksh 3.2B Commercial Contract Funds, To Enable Government Negotiate For Financing,For Ngong Road-Naivasha Road Interchange.

The Kenya Urban Roads authority on Monday, January 23 announced that it had secured a Ksh 3.2 billion concessional loan for the design and construction of the Ngong Road-Naivasha Road interchange.

The roads authority revealed that it had partnered with the Centunion, a Spanish firm.

“KURA has today signed a Ksh. 3.2 billion concessional loan with Centunion of Spain for the design and construction of the Ngong Road-Naivasha Road interchange. The signing was witnessed by CS-Transport, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen and PS-Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua,” the statement read.

Concessional loans are loans that are extended on terms substantially more generous than market loans.

Centunion is a Spanish general contractor enterprise that uses the most advanced technologies and processes in the design, manufacture, and supply of steel structures, specializing in the execution of steel bridges and viaducts.

The Ngong-Naivasha Road Interchange project was initially scheduled for completion in 2019 but that failed to happen after the contractor encountered challenges in moving water and power lines as well as dealing with furniture traders who had invaded the road.

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) Director General Silas Kinoti has been hailed for being an integral part of the Infrastructural development networks being witnessed in the country as a key enabler for economic activities to thrive.

KURA under the watch of Kinoti has served as a special purpose vehicle to develop and manage the infrastructural and socio-economic activities as well as mobilize resources for various projects in the country.

Kinoti is a reputable engineer with work ethic and he has been instrumental both in the previous and the current regime in aiding towards the realization of improved infrastructure in Kenya,a milestone that’s aimed at changing the lives of the ordinary citizens through eased mobility and promote trading activities.

Together with Roads CS Kipchumba Murkomen, they will be very resourceful to President William Ruto’s agenda whose an early area of focus seeks to re-energize ongoing partnerships with representatives of various agencies including the World Bank and complete existing projects.
