Nairobi Azimio la Umoja MCAs have called on their supporters to turn up in large numbers tomorrow to welcome their Party leader, Hon Raila Odinga, at JKIA and later attend the much-awaited Kamkunji Rally.

Led by the Majority Leader, Peter Imwatok, they assured their supporters that their security was guaranteed, and Raila Odinga would be accorded a grand welcome.

“As Azimio, we are preparing to give Hon Raila a warm welcome upon his arrival at JKIA. We will then join him in a procession to the people’s Baraza at Kamkunji Grounds. We urge our supporters to come out in large numbers,” said Imwatok.

He further added, “Full security will be provided as we have duly notified Shauri Moyo Police Station in accordance with the law. The police are our partners, and we kindly request their cooperation in ensuring a peaceful movement from JKIA to Kamukunji grounds.”

Raila will be returning to the country on Tuesday morning after a prolonged stay in Poland.

“Raila is poised to provide this country with guidance. Despite the public outcry, the National Assembly passed the controversial Finance Bill, and the President assented to it. Raila will be the voice of reason that we will listen to,” Imwatok emphasized.

Imwatok reaffirmed their support for Azimio leader Raila Odinga, stating that it would not be easy to sway Azimio MCAs, unlike what has been happening in the National Assembly.

“Azimio MCAs in Nairobi cannot be swayed or bought. Unlike MPs, we will not be influenced by fear or be bought in the market. As the majority in Nairobi, we are ready to face any challenges,” added Imwatok.

Azimio la Umoja, through the One Kenya Alliance, will be hosting a public engagement forum on Tuesday to discuss the Finance Bill, 2023.

The people’s Baraza at Kamkunji will be led by Raila, with Azimio leaders, including Martha Karua and Kalonzo Musyoka, attending the forum to address the concerns regarding tax hikes.
