Nairobi MCA’s To Shut down Assembly Operations Over Unpaid Allowances.

A section of Nairobi MCAs now claim the county assembly owes them millions of shillings in unpaid allowances.

The Mcas have now threatened to paralyse the assembly operations from Tuesday this week untill the clerk of the assembly pays them their allowances running into millions of shillings.

“We want the office of the clerk to pay us our allowances, we can’t pretend to be ok when our money is being withheld in this assembly, “Mca Matach said.

His Gatina Ward counterpart Kennedy Swaka said that the mcas are finding it difficult even to fuel their cars since they have no money,adding that their Ward offices are also in rent arrears.

“Personally have not paid rent for the last six month ,my office will be shut down this month, why can’t clerk pay us our allowances we clear the bills that are before us,”Mca Swaka added.

They have threatened to shut down operations in the county assembly effective tomorrow if the clerk will have not comply.
