Nairobi Water Company Warns Against Illegal Connections

Water cartels are under scrutiny as Nairobi City County Water and Sewerage Company (NCCWSC) dismantles illegal connections to its main pipes.

The crackdown, conducted in the Kyang’ombe area along the Southern bypass, aimed to curb the rising trend of unauthorized water hookups.

Led by NCCWSC Security Team in partnership with the National Police Service’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU), the operation revealed that one individual had illegally tapped into the water supply to serve multiple entities, including factories.

Surveillance efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrator and prevent reconnections.
