Mwea, Kenya – September 19, 2024 — Mwea MP Mary Maingi continues to demonstrate her commitment to improving the livelihoods of her constituents by spearheading efforts to ensure the entire Mwea Constituency is connected to the national power grid. In her latest initiative, Maingi, in collaboration with the Kenya Power Company Limited, conducted a registration drive in several villages, marking significant progress in her goal of 100% electricity access.

During the visit to Ndaba-Muthatura, Kibukure, and Kianika in Kangai Ward, Maingi accompanied a team from Kenya Power to identify households that remain without electricity. The registration drive is aimed at mapping out these homes for future connection to the power grid. The MP highlighted her dedication to ensuring that every household in Mwea gains access to reliable electricity.

“In our ongoing efforts to ensure Mwea Constituency is 100% connected to the power grid, the Kenya Power team, in collaboration with my office, visited several areas yesterday to register households without electricity. My aim is to ensure every home has access to reliable electricity, and I am committed to this cause to empower Mwea residents and enhance their quality of life,” Maingi stated.
