Kabete MP Hon. Githua Wamacukuru has announced the tendering process for the long-awaited Wangige Modern Market, following funding approval from the National Government’s Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The modern market aims to enhance trading conditions for small-scale traders, featuring modern stalls, storage facilities, cold rooms, administrative offices, and improved sanitation. The project is expected to boost local commerce, create jobs, and support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
With funding secured, interested contractors can now submit their bids, with details available through government procurement channels. The project aligns with the government’s economic empowerment agenda and is set to transform Wangige into a key trading hub.
Hon. Wamacukuru reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth in Kabete, ensuring that the market will provide a clean, safe, and organized business environment for traders and consumers alike.
