Kenya, Germany Strengthen Migration and Mobility Partnership

Nairobi, Kenya – April 4, 2025
Labour and Skills Development Principal Secretary, Shadrack Mwadime, held a high-level meeting with a German delegation to assess progress on the Comprehensive Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement signed in September 2024.
The discussions focused on reviewing achievements made since the agreement’s signing and identifying ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation on labour migration.
Key attendees included Dr. Joachim Stamp, Germany’s Special Commissioner for Migration Agreements, Alexander Fierley, Deputy Head of Mission, and Dr. Peter Schmidt, Head of Office at the Office of the Federal Government Special Commissioner for Migration Agreements. Kenya was represented by Joel Mwanzia, Acting Secretary for Labour Migration, and Edith Okoki, Director General of the National Employment Authority.
The partnership aims to create structured migration pathways, enhance skills development, and improve employment opportunities for Kenyan professionals in Germany.
