The troubled Wajir governor Mohamed Mohamud attended a state function with president Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, aclear sign that he was still the county boss despite his alleged impeachment motion.
The governor attended a function at Nairobi alongside president Kenyatta and other top officials something that indeed impeached governor can’t be allowed to do by State House protocol.
The Wajir governor was allegedly impeached last month and on Friday was unlikely of him to accompany the first in command to launch a project in Nairobi.
“I was honoured to join the President H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, Council of Governors chairman H.E Martin Wambora, other county governors, CS Peter Munya and other leaders at the ASK Showground in Jamhuri, Nairobi County to preside over the official launch of 4-K Clubs in Primary Schools and the ENABLE Youth Kenya Programme”. Wajir governor said.
“The revival of 4-K Clubs is part of an elaborate Government strategy to reposition agriculture as a key economic driver. On the other hand, Empowering Novel Agribusiness-led Employment (ENABLE) is a capacity-building initiative for youth in agribusiness co-funded by the Government and the African Development Bank (AfDB)”. Mohamed added.
Kenyans were quick to judge his move some claiming that his impeachment was political hence rule of law must be followed to serve him justice.
His stay in office comes after his team of lawyers led by Kenyan celebrated lawyer Ndegwa Njiru procured orders from the High Court reinstating him in office.
