Majority of the magistrates and judges from Nyeri, Western, Kiambu, Kitale, Kapenguria, parts of coast and other parts of the country who spoke in unanimous said that the SG has delivered in his current position hence the need to give him another challenging role.

“Kuto has been in the forefront of fighting for our rights from unfair dismissal, our rights, among others,” said a magistrate from one of the courts in Western.

Another magistrate said that basing on the previous records the SG was the right man to take the Presidency of the association basing on his track record.

SG Derrick Kuto in a past press event where he called on Politicians to stop attacking judges after the BBI verdict

Some few months ago, Kuto told off politicians from attacking the high court judges after they dismissed the BBI case.

Other magistrates just like some judges cited the effort the SG did during the Maraga error where he condemned the suspension of magistrates and judges without a fair hearing.

They also cited his efforts especially, the one that pushed for members salaries review which the court ordered that the SRC implements.

KMJA will be heading to elect their new leaders on Saturday in Naivasha and we are waiting to see how the election will be conducted.
