More than 150 MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto have called for a paradigm shift in the management of the country’s economy.
The law makers said the traditional trickle-down economic model had failed to tackle the problems of ordinary people.
The law makers led by Garisa Town Mp Aden Duale, said it was time the country embraced the bottom-up, middle-out approach that is inclusive and people-centred.
Duale said the Hustler Nation formation will champion for the rights and interests of every Kenyan irrespective of the their background.
“Hustler nation is the next government for all kenyans, and its going to embrace the bottom up eceonomy,”Duale said.
Duale further called on the Government to fast-track the COVID-19 vaccination to contain the spread of the killer pandemic.
“As UDA leaders we want the government to ensure they vacinate our people so that they can be safe from corona virus,”Duale added.
The MPs have also vowed to focus on legislating policies that will facilitate the implementation of the new model whose highlight is at the base of the wealth pyramid.
“We believe in a new economic and political paradigm that prioritises the people over their leaders, empowerment over power-sharing, jobs over positions,” Duale stated.
The lawmakers also faulted the Opposition for hijacking the Government and derailing Jubilee’s development agenda.
They said it was unfortunate that the Opposition had managed to change the government’s priorities from the Big Four to constitutional amendments.
