Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano, has been voted Kenya’s best-performing Cabinet Secretary, according to a recent MicroTrac survey. The poll awarded CS Miano an impressive 67% approval rating, placing her at the top of President William Ruto’s Cabinet.
Following closely behind, Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs CS Hassan Joho secured second place with 62%, while Defence CS Soipan Tuya came in third at 60%. Attorney General Justin Muturi and Water CS Eric Muuga rounded out the top five with 53% and 51% ratings, respectively.
CS Miano’s exceptional performance has been attributed to her transformative leadership in the tourism and wildlife sector. Key achievements include launching a new wildlife circuit to diversify Kenya’s tourism offerings and overseeing the graduation of 1,200 Kenya Wildlife Service recruits—the highest number in the agency’s history—underscoring her commitment to conservation and capacity building.
Her innovative policies, such as introducing a digital nomad work permit, have positioned Kenya as an attractive destination for global remote professionals, boosting the nation’s competitiveness in the digital economy. Additionally, her strategic partnership with the Ministry of Interior has strengthened security for tourists, further cementing Kenya’s reputation as a premier travel destination.
