Nairobi Water MD Muguna Bribe  MCAs to Defeat Quorum Over His Ouster

Section of Nairobi County Assembly Members are on the spot for not attending the sitting to debate on  a Motion that was targeting removal from office Nairobi Water and Sewage Company Managing Director Nahashon Muguna.

The MCAs snubbed  the sitting after section of them  got ‘lunch’ from the embattled MD who do not want to proceed  on retirement despite attaining 60 years.

“We shall deal with you hamwezi angusha majority leader Ivo mtatapika kitu mmekula,” an MCA who attended the sitting said.

“We can not be dishonourable members who pick money and neglect their Constitutional duty.” She added.

The motion is sponsored by Majority Leader Peter Imwatok who want all public service officers to proceed on retires upon attaining the age of  60 years as stipulated in Section 80 (1) (a) and (b) of the Public Service Commission Act, 2017.

Meanwhile Imwatok has Insisted that the Motion will be slated again for consideration.

“Tutapitisha tu ukisharetire enda nyumbani.” He stated.

”Concerned that, despite these recommendations, the County Government  and its entities has continued to recruit and/or extend the term of service of officers in the service beyond the mandatory retirement age of sixty (60) years contrary to the provisions of Section 80 (1) (a) and (b) of the Public Service Commission Act, 2012 and Circulars Ref. No. PSC/ADM/13 (7) dated 19th November, 2020 by the Public Service Commission and Ref. No. MPSG& AA.1/5/1/1 dated 16th February, 2023 by the Ministry of Public Service..’’ the Notice of Motion reads in part.
