Kenya took a groundbreaking step in its digital transformation journey with the inauguration of the Regional Centre of Competence for Digital and AI Skilling at the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Lower Kabete.
The Centre, developed through a partnership involving UNDP Kenya, the Ministry of Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy, Microsoft, and KSG, aims to equip public servants with advanced digital skills to enhance service delivery and promote innovation.
The event was presided over by Ahunna Eziakonwa, Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Director of UNDP Africa, who lauded the initiative for its dual focus on technical proficiency and values-driven leadership. “The Centre is about efficient service delivery across all sectors. It aims to develop not just skills but also character, courage, compassion, and capability, all anchored in dignity, integrity, and decency,” she remarked.
