Former Nairobi City County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi has declared to contest for Dagoretti North Constituency parliamentary seat through the ODM Party ticket in this year’s coming elections.
Elachi who is the current Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for youths and gender was speaking this morning in a TV show noting it’s time to bring change to residents of Dagoretti who have over the decades suffered under development.
Already, politicians have aligned themselves in camps, with the majority leaning either towards Deputy President William Ruto or former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
It seems Elachi has finally made up her mind on which seat she will be vying for and her preferred presidential candidate in the fourth coming general elections to be held in August this year.
Elachi is yet to reveal whether she will resign as CAS on the 9th of February just one week away.
Elachi narrowly lost to Simba Arati in the last elections and she is optimistic to take the seat with no doubt.
She will be contesting against nominated MCA Mary Arivisa.
“We have let down the residents of Nairobi and specifically Dagoretti, it’s highest time we focus on development than politics of fake promises. This is a new era and change is inevitable, like it or not,” she said.
