In her remarks, Odhiambo emphasized the importance of embracing AI as a vital tool for enhancing productivity and efficiency within the legal profession. She encouraged the young lawyers present to leverage technology to improve their practice and keep pace with the evolving demands of the globalized economy.

“Today’s conversation made considerations on the emerging issues related to AI in the practice of law. I urged the young practitioners in attendance to embrace AI as a critical tool in enhancing output and improving efficiency,” said Odhiambo.

She further highlighted the necessity of conforming to global standards and trends, stating that embracing technology is key to fostering growth in the legal sector. Odhiambo urged the young lawyers to view AI as a resource that can help them overcome barriers and expand their practice beyond regional borders.

“We must embrace technology as an invaluable resource in fast-tracking the growth of our practice space. It is essential that we conform to global standards and trends if we are to meet the high demands of the increasingly globalized economy. Let us use AI to break barriers and go across our regional borders,” she added.

The convention, hosted by the EALS, brought together young legal minds from across the region to discuss how technological advancements, like AI, can be integrated into legal practice to enhance service delivery and competitiveness.
