Prof. Nura Mohammed is the DG& CEO at the Kenya School of Government

The 5th Africa Public Sector Conference and Awards (APSCA), held at the Bomas of Kenya, celebrated excellence in public service leadership with a glamorous and professional ceremony. Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, Mr. Felix Koskei, E.G.H., was honored with the Prestigious Award for Transformational Leadership in Public Service.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Koskei, who had previously received the award in Botswana, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and a shared vision in driving the Kenyan Public Service to new heights. “We must redouble our efforts to drive the Government Agenda and bring the country from the yoke of poverty to prosperity,” he stated.

The award recognized several of Mr. Koskei’s achievements, including a joint initiative between Huduma Kenya and the Kenya School of Government (KSG) aimed at enhancing the role of public service in societal transformation.

During the ceremony, KSG Director General, Prof. Nura Mohamed, presented the Customer Service Excellence Program, a collaborative effort between KSG and Huduma Kenya. Prof. Mohamed highlighted the program’s goal: “to transform the culture of the public service into one that is fit for service, guided by a customer-centric perspective.”

The event underscored the importance of leadership in reshaping public service and fostering innovation, collaboration, and customer-focused approaches to improve service delivery for all Kenyans.
