The Kenya Union of Special Needs Teachers (KUSNET), led by Secretary General James Torome, donated foodstuffs and tree seedlings to AIC Siyampei Children’s Home in Narok County ahead of the Christmas celebrations. The initiative, part of KUSNET’s annual charitable program, aims to support vulnerable children while promoting environmental sustainability.
The donation included essential food items such as rice, maize flour, cooking oil, and beans to ensure the children enjoy a festive season filled with warmth and joy. Additionally, tree seedlings were provided to encourage environmental awareness and responsibility among the children and staff.
“Christmas is a time of giving, and we want to ensure that these children have a memorable holiday while also contributing to environmental conservation through tree planting,” said Torome.
The Children’s Home expressed gratitude for the donation, with the director noting that the food supplies would significantly ease the burden of care during the holidays, while the tree seedlings instill environmental stewardship.
KUSNET’s efforts reflect their ongoing commitment to community welfare, showcasing the importance of supporting vulnerable groups and fostering sustainable practices. This act of kindness serves as a reminder of the positive impact that organizations can make during the festive season.
