Labour and Skills Development Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime presided over the Kenya Institute of Foreign Languages graduation ceremony today at the Bomblast Memorial Park gardens, celebrating the achievements of graduates and emphasizing the importance of international exposure in career development.
Addressing the attendees, PS Mwadime attributed the graduates’ success to their hard work and the institution’s dedication to the program. He also received the Champion of Labour Rights and Social Protection award alongside Madam Harriet Chigai for exemplary service to citizens.
The PS encouraged graduates to explore employment opportunities abroad to gain valuable international experience. “I urge our young people to go abroad, acquire knowledge and skills, and return to invest in Kenya, creating opportunities for others,” he said.
Mwadime also emphasized the department’s commitment to fostering skilled labour development, in addition to unskilled labour mobility, as part of a broader strategy to empower Kenya’s workforce.
