Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) residents received a welcome reprieve this festive season as their Member of County Assembly (MCA), Mwaniki Kwenya, issued shopping vouchers worth Ksh. 2,000 to vulnerable families.
Speaking during a gathering at the OTC area, Hon. Kwenya emphasized the importance of spreading love and compassion during Christmas. He urged Nairobians to extend kindness to the less fortunate, highlighting the season as an opportunity for unity and gratitude.
“The Christmas season is here, and it gives us a chance to reconnect with our families and friends, share gratitude, and express appreciation for those we cherish without expecting anything in return,” said Hon. Kwenya. “It is a time to create deeper bonds, spread joy, and improve well-being while living a life of abundance.”
Kwenya called on residents to make the season memorable by sharing with the less fortunate, particularly those struggling to make ends meet. He encouraged those with financial stability not to isolate themselves but to share their blessings.
“To those blessed with more than they need, reach out to your neighbors and share a feast of love through food and clothing donations. Corporate organizations should open food banks to mobilize more resources, and the government must support such initiatives,” he added.
The MCA’s gesture has been widely lauded by residents, with many praising him for embodying the true spirit of Christmas. The initiative not only brings relief to vulnerable families but also serves as a reminder of the power of collective compassion and community support during the festive season.
