Rockey Africa Limited, in partnership with Jabali Joycare, hosted a special Elderly’s Day Out at Thika Greens Golf Course. The event brought joy to over 100 senior citizens from Thika Municipality, celebrating their contributions and fostering a sense of community.
The day was packed with meaningful activities, including free health checkups, personalized wellness packages, storytelling, traditional music, light exercise sessions, and interactive games. A communal lunch added to the festive atmosphere, creating moments of unity and cheer.
“This Christmas season, we wanted to make the elderly feel appreciated and cherished. Spending the day with them was a privilege, spreading joy and creating moments they’ll treasure for years,” said Robert Kamau, CEO of Rockey Africa Limited.
Joyce Jabali, founder of Jabali Joycare, emphasized the importance of honoring elders, stating, “Our elders hold the stories and wisdom of our communities. Today was about showing appreciation for their legacy and giving them a day filled with happiness and care.”
The elderly attendees expressed their gratitude, with Mzee John, one participant, sharing, “It feels wonderful to be celebrated like this. I thank the Rockey Africa Foundation and Jabali Joycare for their kindness. It has truly been a joyful day.”
