The troubled Wajir governor Mohamed Mohamud continues to surprise many with his moves, indicating that he is still the county boss even after his purpoted impeachment.
This comes few days after Mohamed argued that his impeachment motion from the office and the subsequent swearing-in of his deputy Ahmed Ali Mukhtar as the new county government was unconstitutional.
This was a clear indications that Mohamud was invited to the ceremony contrary to the expectations that he was supposed to be home, being that he was impeached, but there he is.
A few days ago, Mohamud also attended a full meeting of the Council of Governors in Nairobi.
During the meeting, the county bosses deliberated widely on the Wajir impeachment row, where they came out to defend the ousted governor.
The Council of Governors chairman Martin Wambora expressed his dissatisfaction with how Muhamud was impeached.
“The council notes the orders by the High Court that reaffirmed the position of Wajir governor Mohamed Mohamud. His case is to be affirmed by the Court of Appeal,” Wambora said.
Wambura, who is also Embu governor, stated that Mohamud’s impeachment did not meet the legal threshold as per the constitution.
“The Constitution is clear. Violations warranting an impeachment must be weighty. The issue in Wajir was very light,” the chairman stated.
Lats week ,the Gorvenors lawyer Ndegwa Njiru had maintained that his client was in office legally.
The Well renowned Kenyan lawyer Mr Ndegwa had also blast his senior counsel lawyer Ahmed Nassir over his recent letter he sent to his client the now ousted Wajir govener Ahmed Mohamud purporting that his deputy is now the duly county boss.
In aletter addressed to lawyer Nassir, Ndegwa described him as someone who doesn’t understand the kenyan constitution, urging him to read wide and understand the 2010 constitution.
