Optiven Limited has announced its initiative to construct a modern science laboratory for Makobeni Secondary School in Malindi in a move to empower children in the area.
This was disclosed by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, George Wachiuri, during a media interview.
Wachiuri highlighted that this project follows the successful renovation of Kiama Primary School in Gatanga just a month earlier, emphasizing the company’s commitment to societal development through property ownership empowerment initiatives.
He revealed that the decision to build the laboratory was prompted by the community’s plea during Optiven’s engagement in Malindi Phase 7, demonstrating Optiven’s responsiveness to local needs.

“When we went to Malindi Phase 7, the neighbouring Makobeni Community had one cry: “Please build us a science laboratory in our school” Wachiuri said.
