Optiven Foundation has scaled up its community based activities in its efforts to help realize a clean environment and easy access to clean water and sanitation.
The foundation in partnesrhip with Optiven Homes officialy launched a toilet block at Korompoi Primary School in Kajiado County.
This is part of the UN SDG agenda on clean water and sanitation whose purpose is to transform lives.
Optiven Chief Executuve Officer George Wachiuru said that the foundation is targeting to intiate similar activities in all the 47 counties.
” We want to ensure that we reach out to more vulnerable communities who have been denied access to water and a clean environment,” he said.
He said that more public schools are facing the challenge of inadequate or lack of toilets which is a health hazard.
” It is a big challenge and we must find a way of working together with relevant stakeholders even as we call on the government to play its part,”Wachiuru added.
The foundation has also launched a christmas campaign dubbed Furahia na Optiven where Kenyans can win a Toyota Vitz ,plot,holiday trip and airtime.
